Getting set up with Highrise is fairly simple. Luckily, Russ has been using it for awhile and has been able to give me a crash course on how it works. I’ve been using Highrise for the past week and it really does make a difference in keeping up communication between the people you work with. I like having all your contacts available to you at any given moment.

Today, I went and applied at a temp agency downtown. It went better than I expected. I arrived there slightly early, which to my benefit, gave me a little extra time to complete the tests they needed me to complete. I did a test for General Data Processing, Word, Excel, and a Typing Test. Of course, they test you on things you don’t always use. So I found myself straining the brain slightly to remember the functions I know, but haven’t practiced in awhile. Then I met with my representative. She interviewed me and offered suggestions to a lot of my questions. It’s amazing how entering the work force, after being out of it for so long, you forget how to respond to interview questions correctly or forget minor things on your resume. I passed with flying colors and am now on the Temp Employment list. We’ll see if good employment comes out of this. Being part of a Temp Service can be a good thing, if they can find you employment. So we’ll see what happens next.
I found myself extremely exhausted when I arrived back home. All the anxious preparations of the Resume, Cover Letter, References, and Letters of Recommendations. It’s finally completed and pulled together correctly…as best as it will be for now. We’ll see where the Lord leads. I’m skilled, but just getting someone to give you the chance.
I was just admiring the beautiful flowers in my garden and noticed that the blooms only last for so long. It got me thinking about my life in general too. How there are so many stages that we have to go through. Going through them it seems like a never-ending venture, but in actuality it too passes and isn’t as long as it felt like.
Russ and I are experiencing one of those life-changing stages at the Moment and to my excitement the Lord has brought a sweet peace as we face every day. The Lord is good! I know he has a plan for everything. I get excited when He’s glorified in the impossible. Just knowing that He allows certain things in our lives to draw us nearer to him and dependent on him fully, brings peace to my heart. I have complete confidence that the Lord has something wonderful ahead for us, why else would the enemy be fighting so hard against us.
