New Released movies are included too. 3-D movies depending on theater you go to may be fully covered or you pay anything over the $15 they cover. You access lists of theaters in your area, which seem to be mostly READING Theaters, CinemaStars, Ultrastars, etc. So for us the most convenient theater is the Grossmont location, but we’ve tried Poway and Chula Vista’s too and were happy.

So we figured we’d try it out. The process if very simple.
1. You select your movie of choice on your membership web page,
2. print out the ticket.
3. go to theater prior to movie & check-in at the Membership Services Desk or Box Office as some call it – don’t stand at a window you go inside the theater. They process your tickets and to the theater you go.

So far, all the theaters we’ve gone to have allowed us to bring in drinks & food of your own too. We’ve asked first and they’ve confirmed no problem with that…so you don’t have to feel obligated to purchase only their refreshments. I liked that benefit from the theaters. Of course, we end up at Starbucks and take in coffees…giggles So do figure in that expense when considering this service.

Anyhoo, this link https://www.moviepass.com/ takes you to their page to sign up to participate. Goodluck and try it out if this is something you enjoy doing. If you figure you go to the theater with someone at least 2-3 times…its paid for itself and now you can go more often and see movies you may not have even thought about seeing.

Like us today… we decided to see “Joyful Noise” with Queen Latifah & Dolly Parton. Would have never seen it if we didn’t have this pass and we would have missed out on a really great movie.

Comment on this post if you try it out. I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Kaiser Bills that Are understandable

General

Well, I’m highly impressed as of a few days ago. Last Thursday, December 22, I was seen in Urgent Care, a stat CT scan was ordered, because a lovely Kidney stone was the only thing that made sense to the doctor for what was going on. So to make sure its not an emergency situation kidney stone…I did the CT scan. I explained, I was planning to leave town on the 29th will the results even be available by following week? Oh yes…”don’t worry the reading will be available tomorrow” they said. To discover, “stat” doesn’t matter LOL the results aren’t available usually for 2-3 weeks, according to the nurse from my doctor’s office. So I questioned her if there was a way she could call the radiology office and see about the stat test. Get this…. her response was a side cheek chuckle and “Yeah if you want your test to go to the bottom of the pile” Wow… so from stat to not worth the time of day…WTF?Questions now-hmmmm…wonder how the ER does it.

Ok so believing the nurse can’t get the information even though this was stat…Now What? Symptoms are still there. I have to give the nurse a hand for at least taking the initiative to get a doctor to order me some antibiotics bless her heart…

Hopefully that will do and all will be well. I love living in denial that there is nothing wrong with my body… don’t you.

Guess you need to know someone in High Places to actually find results to problems. BS is fed to people so often they think everyone will believe what they say. Kinda funny how ER stats miraculously don’t take 3 weeks for results. go figure.

Options: Go to ER and pay another outrageous copay for the same outcome as urgent care. Well maybe, just maybe, they’d get the CT results. Or to just be sent back to my doctor to try to do the Jedi Mind Trick hand swing on me by saying, ” there’s nothing wrong with you, you aren’t having those symptoms, even tho your wbc and rbc are higher than the standards, and your symptoms are overwhelmingly painful. I’m sooo sorry. Nothing we can do.” but this visit and the 5 more I’ll set up for you costs $$$$.

Alternative: just friggin’ be in pain, bleed for no reason, have fevers, and die if that’s where it leads ~ because there’s nothing wrong with your body..you know? lol ok

Remind me again, why we bother enduring the medical assistance? Ohh yeah… its the drugs! O.o
no worries, people from other countries that don’t even pay into the system will be treated stat and be all good tho. Ok another topic to really urk anyone.. lol

Another day, at least I have some meds to last a few days longer and all will be just fine…

Sure would have been a sad day if this was an emergency situation. Thank God it wasn’t.

If I only had waited til January for the CT scan to count on my next years deductible portion- if I knew I’d be waiting on results anyway.

Oh well… going to go enjoy being temporarily pain free and symptom free on the drugs I did get from one nice doctor–while I can. The MEDICAL Industry game can sure be a pain at times.

Miss you Dad – been 2 years as of today.

Family

General

Hard to believe time has just flown by, since Dad has passed on December 1, 2009. Its true…life is but a dream. I’ve put together a few new pictures in my gallery in honor of my Father. Was going through the albums that my mom had put together and saw these. Eventually, I’ll scan them in correctly.

As I ponder over his pictures, I’ve started realizing my father was a character. His teenage pictures remind me so much of my own boys, Tim & Luke. Luke just getting married at 19years old… and then I see my father full of silly faces and lots of laughter too at the same age. Watching my father purchase his first care, go on his first few dates, join the military, become a police officer… yet in the midst of his career all made family #1 priority. I remember a loving father, that trained all us kids to know the Lord, showed us by example how to work hard, budget, plan, provide for a family, love a wife, enjoy & love his children. Many times he shared he missed his 1st daughter Kimberly and told me stories of her coming to visiting all of us with his new family, but then he moved to California and he lost that contact. He shared he still prayed for her and thought of her daily, wishing maybe someday to meet up with her again. I never really knew Kim growing up, but I am starting to get to know her now. Makes me smile, because we are very similar yet have our own uniqueness.

Well Dad, I miss you so much that my heart still cringes not having you here. Listening to all your jokes (dry and hilarious humors), hearing your cough from across the room, discussing issues in the Bible, telling me every detail of your day on a daily basis (sometimes we’d talk 3-10 times a day on the phone), sharing with me and anyone willing to care enough to want to know –every joy that you discovered. You planned your months of vacation time around all of us kids all our lives. You treated not only the family, but everyone you came in contact with as if they were the most special and important person in the world. You touched many lives in many ways for Good. There are so many things I could list… that I remember about you. I’m so thankful that you were my father and I had the opportunity to know you, learn from you, become like you in so many ways. I can only hope and pray we shall be blessed to meet each other again some day.

With ALL MY LOVE – Dad I’m sending you a Big OLD never let you go hug!!! I’ll never forget you. I was very lucky to have been honored with a wonderful father as you.

*BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE NEW GALLERY ALBUM FOR MEMORIES OF DAD 2011*

Happy Thanksgiving!

General

Another year swiftly passes by. The Internet was still accessible through the power supply. So we tried searching for information about what’s happening. SDGE site was down, our eyebrows lifted in wonderment. No news sites had broken any stories or emergency info yet. In a specific spot in the house my cellphone worked. So I tried calling Luke to see if safe and Tim in AZ to findout what happened. His news centers didn’t have any info to offer us.
Texting worked partially for me. So I texted Russ’s mom checking on them. Russ’s cousin let us know they’re all good there and at their homes. So safety was resolved.

Smelling fire in the air and seeing some ashes floating around, my curiosity sparked. “What in the world is going on?” Russ went to see if any neighbors knew anything. I went searching for our hand-winding emergency radio to see if anything was said. The news caster sounded distraught as he was winging it trying to provide information as he discovered it. People were calling in & texting information from all over the county. First thoughts on everyone’s mind was…”Is this a terrorist Event?” Slight panic of the unknown was sensed in the announcers voice. As I was listening, I started checking out the status of our emergency food/water supplies. Check – we were good for a couple days. Started filling up our camping water containers just in case. Locating the flashlights, candles, oil lamps, lighters. Planning in my mind how to utilize the refrigerator/freezer foods in hopes to conserve the coldness as long as possible. Good thing because once it’s dark there’s no finding anything.

Finally, info slowly rolled in. First news was a power station was blown up near Arizona. Then other sites throughout SD County had gone down. All of a sudden the San Onofre nuclear power station was being shut down and all military personnel were ordered to return to their stations. Mexico was reported to have lost power. No one knew the cause of the smoke. The announcer began assuring people of specific known fires being put out throughout the county. There was a small grass fire in lakeside so that eased my mind for near me.

Traffic jams were reported, accidents, people’s stress was felt as they called in and were allowed to share info over the airways. Panic was clearly brewing. Reports of certain stores still having power and operating ATMs and selling food & supplies were made. Guidance & Warnings were made telling people to check on the elderly neighbors make sure they at least have water for the duration of the outage. The ETA was still unknown and unhopeful of knowing for quite sometime. Prepare for several days they said.

Later on SDGE’S rep made an announcement about what happened. Thoughts flooded our minds about what was really going on. We know there’s no way they’d panic the masses.

Finally Luke made it over to our home. So knowing he was safe put my mind at ease. We talked about what we’ll do and took it easy listening to the radio keeping informed. We ended up having our chili & cornbread & veggies for dinner. Later on BBQ’d hamburgers for Luke & Becca.
