I’m going to go check out Farrey’s online. They offer a ceiling fan search that let’s you see all the brands and manufacturers that they have available to compare all the different styles. It has been really useful for Russ and I to get an idea of the options available to us. Well, we’ve stumbled on to a new alternative to using our personal debit card. It’s an Achieve Card, its basically a Prepaid Credit Card. Was planning to start hiking with some friends and I’m wondering what the differences are from hiking shoes and walking shoes. Unfortunately, I’m a truck Lover and Dodge has met our families needs over the past few years. Out of all the cars I’ve been fortunate enough to have driven and owned I think my favorite was the Dodge Durango. If it wasn’t such a gas guzzler…I’d still have it today. We switched over to a diesel Dodge Ram 2500 truck and have never been happier. Gas mileage alone has been a great savings for us.

Avocados are full of the good fats that actually help our body’s metabolism, they’re one Superfood that is loaded with major vitamins that help your body function properly. They have such a unique buttery taste. The two most widely marketed avocado varieties are the rough-skinned, almost black Hass and the smooth, thin-skinned green Fuerte. The Hass has a smaller pit and a more buttery texture than the Fuerte. I usually buy avocados that are the Haas variety, but either choice gives you the flavors that you’re looking for in avocados.

Luckily living in California to buy avocados is a simple task. Just go to the local grocery store, farmer’s market, side street farmer stand or local Mexican food markets. It is pretty reasonable to do so too. In the summer, you can usually find sweet deals like 4 avocados for a $1. Well that was til last summer, the best deal I saw was 2 for $1 at Sprouts grocery store. Pretty much year round though you can find avocados somewhere to add to your daily meals. That’s one thing I love about California is the availability of fruits and veggies year round at affordable prices. I didn’t realize how blessed we are with the availability of fresh produce until I visited places like Wyoming, Pennsylvania and parts of Arizona where most fruits and veggies are imported in and you’re lucky to have any fresh seasonal fruit or vegetable at all.

I try to pay my balance off in full each month, even though credit is built on having a small balance and making consistent payments every month. That’s all fine and dandy until you have a financial crisis, which everyone will face at one time or another in their lives. (Unless you are filthy rich). I actually find myself juggling around my credit card companies, because I’ve found my interest rate was increased because the banks can do it. Thing is…I don’t want to pay the increase and there are other credit card companies that will give you lower rates in an instant. That happened to me with Providian, they became outrageously high. I found a no interest credit card offer that met my needs and switched.

My #1 focus is what I eat. I’m finding that my appetite is decreasing, which is good. Smaller portions of food are satisfying. Russ and I are making a greater effort to share meals if we go out too. So that’s a huge help.

#2 focus is Exercise. This is equally critical for me to focus on. If I don’t plan a time to walk, its just too easy to put it off and remain unmotivated to make any effort at all for physical activity. Once I get going though, I quickly remember how much I enjoy it. I have more energy, my body feels better and functions better, and just feel more healthy all around, etc. etc.

I feel the first step for me to get back into the swing of Fitness is to acknowledge the desire. Then schedule times. Lastly, JUST DO IT!
