We went to see the movie “Cars” today. The animation was amazing. It was geared more towards adults with the lengthy meaningful storyline. Only about 4 children under the age of 5 years actually left the theatres due to loss of interest, but most of them got distracted towards the middle of the movie.
I have to say my 5 year old nephew was following the story so well that it got to a part where the girl porsche said something like,”….and I fell in love with this” and instead of the sports car being shown a view of her overlooking the mountainous valley view scenery was shown. My nephew bursted out saying,”she fell in love with that????, huh!!!” The whole audience giggled.
My nephew did enjoy the tractor tipping sound effects and all the racing scenes.
It was colorful, full of unique characters with a lot of personality.
I feel it had a deep lesson. Basically taking a selfish, competitive, prideful character (the sports car) and taking him through a minor challenge. He was forced to slow down to realize the importance of friendships and to value what is really important in life. In other words, “Slow down and enjoy life a little.”
It also sparked my curiousity enough to want to go on a road trip down the Old Route 66 and venture through the little towns that get passed by.
I highly recommend you to see it.
